George Orwell famously wrote about 'four legs good, two legs better' as the pigs in his book Animal Farm decided to emulate human beings.
But Orwell would probably raise an eyebrow if he came across this cute poodle puppy out for walkies in China's Jilin Province.
Walking tall: Poodle pup Treasure prefers to walk on two legs rather than four when his owner takes him out in Jilin City
Year-old Treasure naturally attracts lots of attention when his owner Dou Xianhui takes him for a walk along the Songhua River in Jilin City.
He started to train Treasure to walk on his hind legs immediately after he was born and after one week the puppy was striding along on his hind legs unaided. And he wouldn't stop.
'Since Treasure has learned to walk with two legs he rarely walks with four legs on the ground,'said Dou.
Best paw forward: Treasure took to walking on his hind legs unaided when he was one week old and can walk for up to 30 minutes at a time
'His walking speed is around the same as an adult and he can walk continuously for 20 to 30 minutes. His record distance is around 1,000 metres.'
Treasure even has fans. 'Each time when I am walking there are often fans waiting there, taking pictures and saying hello to him, ' Dou added.
Wonder walk: The year-old poodle takes life in his stride when Dou Xianhui takes him out for a walk by Songhua River
