World's youngest pole dancer: Two-year-old boy's shocking performance in New York park - under his mother's proud gaze

He grips the pole, gyrates his body then lies on the floor with his legs apart - all under the approving gaze of his mother.

This is Kayne Michael Benford, the youngest pole dancer in the world aged just two.

The youngster was introduced to the pursuit by his mother Ryssa who taught him her moves then cheered from the sidelines as he made his public debut.

After allowing him the spotlight for a few minutes, she joined in herself so they could pole dance together.

The clip, which has been posted on YouTube, shows her spinning around over his head whilst he moves his body up and down against the pole.

It was filmed at Pole in the Park event at Union Square in New York organised by the America Pole Fitness Association.

They invited three pole dancers but word spread across the U.S. and around 20 turned up, along with a clutch of admirers.

The video shows Kayne at his mother’s store in Philadelphia practising pulling himself up on the pole before cutting to the event in New York.

To the sound of ‘ABC’ by The Jackson Five he walks round the pole with one hand then slides up and down against it on his groin.

He then lies on the floor and makes a hand gesture before opening and closing his legs to the crowd.

His mother joins him on stage and helps him to climb the pole and moves him around it before letting him slip down into her arms.

She then encourages him to do some more floor and pole exercises before he leaves the stage.

Tinu Naija, founder of the America Pole Fitness Association, said the moment when Kayne got up on stage was ‘beautiful’.

‘He was actually joined by another young boy for a little while and they two of them were just brilliant,’ she told MailOnline.

‘Nobody expected it and the crowd went crazy. They were doing things that I could not even do.

‘When kids get on the pole it’s like a playground for them, so natural.’

Ms Naija dismissed suggestions that involving children so young in pole dancing was sexualising them at too young an age.

She said: ‘There is the sport side to what we do and the entertainment side and we keep them very different - we’re all about the fitness.

‘I’ve seen gymnastics at the Olympics and a lot of the pole moves are exactly the same as the ones taught in pole fitness.

‘If the Chinese can build themselves a farm where they beat these little girls into shape what we do is no different.’
