It’s hard to believe from his wrinkle-free face, thick dark hair and buff body that Rob Lowe is 47-years-old.
The actor looks better than ever on the cover of Vanity Fair’s May magazine and shows off a body to rival any man half his age.
As he poses against a surfboard Rob shows off his bulging arm muscles, firm chest and toned stomach and there is little doubt that his toned and topless body will leave fans swooning.
Cover hot: Rob Lowe shows off his impressive physique on the May cover of Vanity Fair magazine
The cover shot, which was taken by legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz shows the Brothers and Sisters actor appears on the U.S. version of the magazine.
And while Lowe is undoubtedly in impressive shape on the front cover of the magazine he hasn’t always been in such good physical shape and in 2008 he was spotted on the beach with a much less firm body compared with that of today.
In the interview for the May edition of the magazine Rob shares extracts from his book Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography and discusses a whole host of famous faces from hid long-term pal Charlie Sheen to Matt Damon and from late Patrick Swayze to Tom Cruise.
Speaking of being competitive with Sheen, Lowe told the magazine: ‘We competed to see who could play harder, then show up for work and still kick ass.’
Speaking about the One and a Half men star at the start of his career he described Sheen a ‘one-of-a-kind’ and ‘a Polo preppy clotheshorse in a world of O.P. shorts and surf T-shirts.’

He also described the actor as: ‘A wonderful mix of nerd … and rebel.’
Recently Lowe was tipped to replace Sheen on Two And A Half Men and the former star had a lot to say about his pal.
Sheen said: 'He's a buddy of mine, he's a beautiful man, he's a brilliant actor and I hope he does it and kicks its a** - because I still get paid.'
But the Parks and Recreation star is said to be signed into a multi-year deal with the show and so will not be joining the Two And A Half Men lineup.
Dishing the dirt: Lowe talks about Charlie Sheen and his first impressions in his new book Stories I Only Tell My Friends: An Autobiography
Also in the Vanity Fair interview Lowe also reveals his first impressions of Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise.
He said: ‘He's open, friendly, funny, and has an almost robotic, bloodless focus and an intensity that I've never encountered before.’
